HUNTERSVILLE – On the weekend of Sept. 6, six local youth set out to sell lemonade in order to raise money for a tree house. However, the group changed their mind and decided to give all the proceeds to help the homeless.

“Most people were so glad that we were donating the money, and some even gave donations without wanting lemonade,” said Barbara Meyer.

Overall, the kids raised $50.11 for the homeless.

“The kids realized how generous people were when they realized we were doing something for charity,” Meyer said.
