CORNELIUS – After nearly seven years, Celia and Jim Bensman have sold Camp Wagging Tails.

Jim Bensman, a Cornelius commissioner not seeking re-election, and his wife, have decided to retire and focus on enjoying their family and traveling.

“We wish to thank our customers for their loyalty and commitment to the welfare and fun of their pets and the trust they have put in us over the years,” Celia said.

Mary and Richard Colven, who purchased the 10835 Bailey Road pet care center, intend to change very little about Camp Wagging Tails and will keep the current staff in place, a news release said.

An open house will be held Nov. 5 from 11:30 to 1:30 a.m. at the Camp Wagging Tails facility where customers and the community will have a chance to greet both the Bensmans and the Colvens.

Refreshments will be provided for both two-legged and four-legged visitors.
