DAVIDSON – Children ages 4 to 10 will observe and explore nature at Fisher Farm from 4 to 6 p.m., Mondays from Oct. 24 to Nov. 28. There will not be a class Oct. 31. The cost of the class is $50.

Children ages 5 to 10 will explore the changes of fall at Fisher Farm with Woodland Discovery when Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are out Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Nov. 11, children will build fairy houses and gnome forts, along with other activities in the woods. Each class costs $25, and children should bring a lunch and dress for the weather.

Davidson Parks and Recreation will offer an aisle-by-aisle tour of the Davidson Harris Teeter on Nov. 14 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dietician Andrea Sherrill will teach participants ages 12 to 18 how to select heart-healthy foods for the young and active, and which foods stimulate energy and recovery. The class, meeting at Harris Teeter, costs $15.

Parks and Recreation and the Cornelius Park, Arts, Recreation and Culture Department will co-sponsor a basketball league for boys and girls ages 5 to 17. Registration is open until Oct. 30 at either department office or online at www.CorneliusPR.org. Birth certificates are required for first-time players.
