HUNTERSVILLE – In recognition of the Merancas Foundation’s long time support, Central Piedmont Community College named its Huntersville campus the Merancas Campus in a dedication event on Oct. 6.

Founded by Casey and Anke Mermans in 1989, the Merancas Foundation has helped more than 3,000 CPCC students receive an education, according to a press release sent out by the college.

The Central Piedmont system is the largest community college in North Carolina. The Merancas Campus was established in 1996 and is home to the Belk Criminal Justice Building, Claytor Building and the Transport Systems Building.
