CHARLOTTE – Kids Voting Mecklenburg, a nonpartisan organization that promotes civic learning opportunities in Mecklenburg County classrooms, seeks input on how to shape its civil literacy programs to the needs of the community.
The organization encourages parents and community members to take its online survey, at www.kidsvoting.com. Feedback will help the group create materials and resources for students and parents, increase opportunities outside or the classroom and enrich classroom learning.
The organization initially began as a mock vote for school-age children in 1992. Today, Kids Voting Mecklenburg operates programs throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School district that teach students the importance of civic engagement.
