Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities reported a sewer spill into Lake Norman in Cornelius Dec. 30. The utility reported about 430 gallons leaked into the lake near 18500 Harbor Light Blvd. when a contractor reportedly broke a sewer line. No dead fish were found near the site, and utility spokesman Cam Coley said the spill took a couple of hours to clean up.

The utility urges the public to report any sewer problems to 311 at any time.
