Huntersville Assistant Town Manager Gerry Vincent visited Torrence Creek Dec. 20 to talk with first-graders about their neighborhood.

The class welcomed Vincent as a special guest speaker during its literacy unit, “Our Neighborhood at Work.” He shared a presentation about the different jobs around Huntersville and about the ways Huntersville has changed over the years. The students were particularly interested to learn about his efforts in bringing Discovery Place Kids museum to the town, first-grade teacher Christie Peachey said in an e-mail.

“One of the CMS goals is to make sure students are encouraged to graduate and pursue their personal goals and dreams,” Peachey said. “Gerry helped share that with my students.”
Peachey and her 24 first-grade students would like to thank Vincent for his time with them.
