On Dec. 30, the Hopewell wrestling team held the 2010 Clash of the Titans in the basketball gym of Hopewell High School. The Titans won three of their five matches to finish sixth in the 14-team tournament. After falling to I-MECK 4A conference rival Lake Norman, 64-11, in the first round, the Titans responded with victories over West Mecklenburg, 43-42, Riverside, 48-24, and Hickory Ridge, 42-33, before falling in the fifth-place match to Gastonia Forestview, 45-35.
