The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce recently honored Richard Davis, founder of Davis Capital Group, with the Robert T. Cashion Business Person of the Year award. “To be singled out and in the company of revered business people who have shaped the Lake Norman business community before me is truly an honor,” Davis said. “As a Huntersville native, I have a deep passion for the success of this area and want to contribute to the vitality of our Lake Norman community both personally an professionally for many years to come.”

The chamber also awarded the Duke Citizenship and Service award to Dave Yochum, publisher of Business Today and Cornelius Today. Yochum received the award for founding the Big Day at the Lake event in 2004.

Since then, the event has raised more than $365,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, according to a news release about the event.
