McGuire Nuclear Station invites home-schooled students in middle school and high school to a day in honor of National Nuclear Science Week Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The nationally observed week aims to introduce the public to the work of nuclear professionals and raise awareness of the ways in which nuclear science benefits the community. In addition to many hands-on activities, Duke Energy will offer students an interactive presentation on nuclear energy at the EnergyExplorium.
McGuire Nuclear Station’s EnergyExplorium is located at 13339 Hagers Ferry Road, Huntersville. Take Interstate 77 to N.C. 73 (exit 25). Turn west on N.C. 73. Go approximately five miles to the stoplight at McGuire Nuclear Station Road. Turn right into plant entrance. Stay in the right lane and follow signs to the EnergyExplorium.
