CORNELIUS – Our Towns Habitat for Humanity is looking for people to prepare meals for visiting college students who will spend their Spring Break building homes for local, low-income people.

More than 55 students are expected for Habitat’s Collegiate Challenge 2011, where they’ll work all day on a construction site, rain or shine. Last year, students worked in freezing temperatures and snow, officials said.

Some 25 students from Ohio Northern University will participate Feb. 27 to March 4. And another 30 students from Seton Hall University will visit March 6 to 11.

Our Towns Habitat hopes to receive donations of breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks per day per group. Breakfast and dinner can be set up at Our Towns Habitat’s Cornelius office, while lunch and snacks will be served on the construction site.

In the past, the college students have camped out on the floor at Mt. Zion and showered at the YMCA. In addition, Our Towns has had meals and snacks donated from local businesses, individuals, churches and civic groups.
