CORNELIUS – To help raise money for the Cornelius Veterans Monument, the town is challenging residents to a 21-day weight loss competition to find Cornelius’ biggest losers beginning on Thursday, Jan. 13.

Inspired by the reality TV show, “The Biggest Loser,” Lake Norman Nutrition, located in the Shops on the Green shopping center, has been conducting weight loss courses that offer tips on nutrition and exercise, paired with a hint of competition.

Course participants can use any weight-loss program of their choice, or the Wellness Coaches can help them customize a plan. Participants will weigh-in each week, and the three people with the highest percentage of body weight lost at the end of the course will win prizes donated by local businesses.

The cost for the challenge is $20. All the money will go toward the Veterans Memorial Monument Fund.  Payment is accepted at Lake Norman Nutrition. Call 704-896-7750 or e-mail lknnutrition@gmail.com to register.
