Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are no longer closed Monday, Jan. 17 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Instead, the day has been designated as one of two make-up days following school closings earlier this week due to severe weather. The second scheduled make-up day is Feb. 18.

The make-up day for Wednesday, Jan. 12 will be Feb. 21.

CMS staff is required to schedule make-up days in a cascading manner, as close as possible to the day on which the school was closed, Superintendent Peter Gorman explained during the school board meeting Jan. 11.
