First Community Bancshares, Inc., which operates First Community Bank in Cornelius, Mooresville and Huntersville, reported a net income of $6.55 million for the quarter that ended Sept. 30, according to a news release. Net interest income increased $1.06 million, or 6.05 percent, from the third quarter of 2009.
