CORNELIUS — The North Mecklenburg Senior Center will hold a free intergenerational holiday program from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the center, 18731 W. Catawba Ave. Second-graders from St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville will sing and interact with seniors from the community. All seniors from the community are invited to attend.

“We know how much the sound and laughter of youngsters voices can brighten the day for our older adults,” center Director Joanne Ahern said in a news release. “Combined with the festive atmosphere of the holiday season, this program should be a heartwarming and rewarding experience for everyone involved.”

Each of the 81 second-graders will present a Christmas ornament to a senior citizen, and each of the seniors will present a goodie bag to a student.
