CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte-area free health clinic needs volunteers to help run a health-care and education event Tuesday, Dec. 7.

The North Carolina Association of Free Clinics is organizing the event, which will be at the Charlotte Convention Center, 501 S. College St., from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers free basic medical care and health education to people without health insurance.

Staff will offer care on a first-come, first-served basis.

Community in Christ Lutheran Church’s new Health Ministry Team is participating, and organizers need additional volunteers, both medical and non-medical.

Parking vouchers for the Westin Hotel and convention center parking decks will be available for those using the clinic.
