DAVIDSON – Liz Parham, director of the N.C. Main Street Program, will speak Thursday, Dec. 9, about how to improve and promote Davidson’s shopping district. She will discuss Davidson’s resources and how they can help boost tourism and cultivate a stronger customer base.

The talk is open to the public, not just merchants, and will start at 6 p.m. at Davidson’s Town Hall.

The Town of Davidson received recognition in 2009 as a North Carolina Main Street Community.

“Liz Parham’s presentation should be the beginning of what we hope will be a continuing discussion of how we can improve our downtown district,” said Interim Downtown Director Kim Fleming.

The Dec. 9 presentation is the first in a series of events that Davidson will host as part of its Economic Development programming. The focus of these events is to provide business topics that are relevant to small town development.
