DAVIDSON – Residents interested in the development of about 74 acres of undeveloped land near the intersection of Davidson-Concord Road and N.C. 73 should mark their calendars for Dec. 15 and 16.

The Town of Davidson plans to hold a charrette those days at the River Run Country Club Clubhouse to consider possible development by Childress Klein Properties Inc. for a mixed-use development, which could be put to retail, office, civic and residential uses. The farmland is owned by members of the Mayes family.

Nearby residents are encouraged to attend portions of the two-day charrette, known as a Conditional Planning Area master plan charrette, including a site walk on Dec. 15 and a presentation the evening of Dec. 16. Specific event details will be outlined and sent in a letter in early December to residents within a half-mile of the site.

The charrette will be at the River Run Country Club Clubhouse at 19125 River Falls Drive, because the clubhouse is near the site and its nearby residents. For more information, contact Megan Pillow Davis at mdavis@ci.davidson.nc.us or 704-940-9602.
