The “Carrington Ridge Fry Boys” fried and delivered 137 turkeys to homeless and battered women’s shelters in Charlotte, almost doubling their record of 74. John Decoteau, president of the Carrington Ridge Homeowners Association, said the group hopes to deliver about 200 next year. The Fry Boys thank many local donors, including Carrington Ridge residents, Harris Teeter, Residential Mortgage Center, Universal Technical Institute, Longhorn Steakhouse, Boy Scout Troop 777, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Muecke Family and other local helpers.
“It was truly a team effort and couldn’t have been done without everyone’s support,” Decoteau said in an e-mail. “Thanks for making it a great day, giving so others may receive.”
