HUNTERSVILLE – A Lincoln County grand jury has indicted a Huntersville police officer on four counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
Lt. Kurt Marcus, a 12-year-veteran with the department, has been on administrative leave since Sept. 13 when Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies contacted Huntersville police about the investigation. He was indicted on Friday, Nov. 19.
Information about the arrest was not immediately available. See next week’s Herald for full details.
Huntersville police have opened an investigation into Marcus but say the alleged incident occurred in Lincoln County while he was off duty.
Marcus has worked in the department’s patrol division since 2002. He has a first court appearance scheduled on Nov. 29.
