The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg has begun divvying out the more than $7,000 raised at its annual golf tournament. Earlier this month, the Rotary Club donated $1,800 to The Bin of Huntersville. The store at 121 N. Old Statesville Road provides donated furniture, home goods and appliances to families in need.

The Rotary Club also donated $700 on Nov. 17 to Circle de Luz, an organization that empowers young Latinas through support, mentoring and scholarships.

The donations were all part of living up to the Rotary motto: “Service above self.”
