CORNELIUS – Licensed clinical social workers Alissa Cavanaugh and Katherine Farrell recently opened Serendipity Therapy, PLLC, specializing in geriatric mental health services.

The women, who each have degrees in psychology and social work, moved to Charlotte about four years ago and met through alumni networks after moving to the Lake Norman area.

“We are a small group practice of licensed therapists that specialize in geriatric mental health. Our services are provided in the individuals’ home or long-term care facility,” Cavanaugh said, though both keep home offices in Cornelius.

Besides Mecklenburg, the practice serves Iredell, Cabarrus, Rowan, Union, Davie, Lincoln and Catawba counties.
