Many area schools observed Veterans Day last week with ceremonies, assemblies and concerts.

“I’m glad we have school on Veterans Day,” Community School of Davidson teacher Patty Quillinan said. “It gives us a chance to honor those that are not here today and to recognize those that are serving because they have worked very hard to protect our country so we can have the freedom to do the things that we do every day.”
