B.M. Caye Swanger, 70, died Nov. 6, 2010.

A funeral service was held Nov. 10 at West Mecklenburg Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. John Thrower, with burial at Forest Lawn West cemetery. Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, was in charge.

Daniel Geary

CONCORD –Daniel Courtlandt Geary, 84, of Concord, died Nov. 9, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. Survivors include son Robert Armour Geary and wife, Patricia, of Huntersville.

Mr. Geary was raised and worked in New Jersey, before moving to Concord. A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 13, at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, conducted by the Rev. Ken Craig, with burial at Ramah Presbyterian Church.

Roy Abernathy
Roy Lee Abernathy, 52, of Iron Station, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at his home. Survivors include brother David Abernathy, of Davidson.

Born Dec. 23, 1957, in Mecklenburg County, Mr. Abernathy was a son of the late Charles Fulton and Mary Helms Abernathy.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, conducted by the Rev. Lee Russell, with burial at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Charlotte.

Ruth Gryder
CORNELIUS – Ruth Pasour Gryder, 94, of Cornelius, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010.

Born Sept. 26, 1916, Mrs. Gryder was the youngest daughter of the late Minnie Maxwell and David R. Pasour, a Confederate veteran who lost his arm at the Battle of Cedar Run.

Her husband, Theodore Gryder, died in 2005.

Survivors include her son, Dennis W. Gryder, and wife, Beckie, Fort Myers, Fla.; stepdaughter, Kay Baron; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren; and five stepgranddaughters.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Cornelius, with burial at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.
