North Meck held its 32nd annual barbecue fundraiser Nov. 5 at the school. While students, staff and community volunteers packed “to go” boxes in the cafeteria, others bundled up to direct traffic and hand out meals car-side in the parking lot.

School volunteers cooked 7600 pounds of meat for more than 4000 plates, and made about $41,000.

Sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Student Association, the barbecue is their only fundraiser each year and funds raised allow the association to pay for student scholarships, teacher support and capital purchases.
