HUNTERSVILLE – The 17th annual Renaissance Festival will begin Friday, Oct. 8, at the fairgrounds intersection of N.C. 73 and Poplar Tent Road, and will continue for the next seven weekends.



The rain or shine event will be held each through Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.



Advance discount tickets are available at Harris Teeters throughout the area and cost $18 for adults and $7 for children 5 to 12 years old. Children younger than 5 get in free. Tickets cost $1 more at the gate or print your own online at RenFestInfo.com. People 60 and older and military members pay $17 at the gate. Parking is free.



Introduced to the Charlotte area in 1994, the Carolina Renaissance Festival and Artisan Marketplace has grown into a 22-acre festival and become one of the largest Renaissance-themed events in the country.
