CHARLOTTE – Bank of America, Barry Evans Josephs & Snipes and TIAA-CREF are sponsoring an evening with best-selling author Tom Wolfe on Oct. 28 at One Bank of America Center to raise money for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg library system.
The lead corporate sponsors and table hosts have covered all expenses for the event, so all ticket proceeds benefit the library. The event is nearly sold out.
Remaining tables cost $3,000 for 10 guests, and individual seats cost $300. To purchase a table or individual tickets, contact Dick Pahle at 704-416-0617 or dpahle@cmlibrary.org by Thursday, Oct. 21.
Library Board Chair and event organizer Robin Branstrom hopes the library’s first major fundraising event will raise $100,000 to support literacy services for children, according to a news release.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Booth Theater of Founders Hall, with Wolfe previewing his upcoming novel, “Back to Blood.” Dinner will follow in the Urban Garden.
Wolfe has written several national best-sellers, including “Bonfire of the Vanities” and “The Right Stuff.”
