DAVIDSON – Davidson officials have appointed library fundraiser Kim Fleming to serve as the town’s interim downtown manager, after Sandy Lemons left the position on Oct. 15.

A town news release said Lemons “ended her tenure with the town by mutual agreement.”

A five-year Davidson resident, Fleming has 13 years of marketing experience with a Fortune 500 company in New York City and Charlotte. She has spearheaded fundraising campaigns for the Ada Jenkins Center and Our Towns Habitat for Humanity and, most recently, served as fundraising co-chair for the Davidson Public Library campaign, which has raised more than $150,000 toward its $175,000 goal.

Fleming began her new position Thursday, Oct. 21. Town administrators hope to name a permanent downtown manager by March 2011.
