Peeved – Week of Aug. 28

Residents share what bugs them ARE YOU KIDDING ME? My bike riding in the business park is slowing you down? Why are you in such a rush? As a cyclist, you can't always ride in the bike lanes. Often there is debris in the road. I agree with you that cyclists should stay in the bike lane, but it's… read more about Peeved – Week of Aug. 28

Peeved – Week of 8/17

Warm Fuzzies Happy thoughts from residents  It makes me happy that Davidson found a way to save those beautiful oaks during the completion of the recent sidewalk project.   Thanks for the staples. It is difficult to submit a comment on I-77 under this header, but am grateful for… read more about Peeved – Week of 8/17

Peeved – Week of 8/7

Warm Fuzzies Happy thoughts from residents I wonder how many of us pause to be grateful for the welcoming atmosphere and friendly reception at North County Regional Library and for the cordial, efficient service we receive from the – probably under-compensated – library assistants. … read more about Peeved – Week of 8/7

Peeved – Week of 7/30

Warm Fuzzies Happy thoughts from residents Thanks to the off-duty police officer who stopped to teach my teenage daughter and her friends a lesson as they enjoyed a mid-day summer movie at Birkdale. The officer happened to be sitting behind them. All three girls got up to get popcorn, leaving… read more about Peeved – Week of 7/30

Peeved at...

People who continue to text and drive, people who try to "beat the red light,” people who ignore stop signs, people who don't use their blinkers before making a turn, people who cut right in front of me on the interstate at the last second only to turn off the same exit I am, people who know… read more about Peeved at...

Inexcusable

To the person who got passed on the right lane on I-77, if you are in the far left passing lane, and are not passing cars, then you should immediately get out of the passing lane, especially if their are cars behind you, or if they are passing you on your right side, because you are impeding the… read more about Inexcusable

Taste it first

Had a great Fathers Day last Sunday. My son's barbeque was a hit with everyone bringing something to share. We brought coleslaw and potato salad. The coleslaw was excellent but the potato salad was good with one little exception. Cooking tip for the grocery store: When making potato salad, be… read more about Taste it first

May you rot in ...

To the sick, evil and demented person who threw kittens one at a time out of their car window on I-77 southbound. May you rot in h@&$. You couldn't have taken them to a shelter???? I am forever traumatized from seeing that and devastated that I couldn't get your tag number or help those defenseless… read more about May you rot in ...

Requests have no effect

The lack of maintenance on the sides of the roads on narrow peninsulas without sidewalks in Cornelius gets me very angry whenever I walk my dog and a large construction truck or speeding vehicle forces me into an area overgrown with poison ivy, snakes and rats. My repeated requests to have these… read more about Requests have no effect

I'm on to you guys

I am peeved that regular citizens can't see they are being pandered to by the likes of Phillips, Tarte and Puckett. Isn't it odd that none of them stepped up on the tolls for two years ... until right before an election year? And Phillips talks about Tillis being his best friend. How's that working… read more about I'm on to you guys

One slip and ...

I am beyond peeved when I see someone driving a car with a dog in their lap! And in this case, size does not matter. One slip and a very small dog can get in the way of the foot pedals while a larger dog creates a bigger obstruction. And if they don’t care about themselves, what about the pet? Do… read more about One slip and ...

Audit needed

I have lived in six states. And the NCDOT is the worst transportation agency of the six. I strongly suspect corruption within and around this agency: How else could such a deleterious contract as the I-77 tolls, with extortion from the citizens of Mecklenburg, Iredell and Cabarrus counties, be… read more about Audit needed

It's a win-win

Since NCDOT has determined that toll lanes are the solution to the traffic problems on I-77, I would ask our representatives in Raleigh to divest NCDOT pension funds from their current investments and place them all in on bonds supporting this wonderful project. It’s a win-win! read more about It's a win-win
