Inexcusable

I’m peeved at the person who drove off after hitting my wife’s Lexus SUV in Novant Dermatology parking lot on March 31. Your stupid act is inexcusable hitting and running someone’s cars. read more about Inexcusable

Now a roundabout?

A DDI with crazy masts that sail nothing, now a roundabout? This place is starting to look like a Joie Chitwood Thrill Show. Maybe we could attract some kind of Grand Prix with all these whacky roads. Flaming cars flying out of giant tubes sounds fun. read more about Now a roundabout?

Stop sign means STOP!

Peeved at many residents in the three Wynfield communities. The four-way stop at Torrence and Wynfield Creek Parkway requires that you actually stop! If you must blow through this stop sign since you’re so important, at least slow down to the posted speed limit. Also, four-way stops do not allow… read more about Stop sign means STOP!

Watch out

A coward vandalizes a vehicle in the lot of Lowes or Harris Teeter. You have a problem, come see me. Or pray the Huntersville Police Department catches you first. Your juvenile behavior scratching my truck would have schoolyard retribution. read more about Watch out

Please don't do it!!!

Those of us living in Cornelius are very well familiar with the debacle called the Diverging Diamond and the disappointing "gateway to Lake Norman" poles/masts. Now comes news that a roundabout is planned for N.C. 21 and Catawba Avenue (Cashion’s intersection). Drivers are already confused by… read more about Please don't do it!!!

Wake up!

Last week while in my yard at 6:45 p.m., I observed a child in a motorized go-cart whiz past my house in the middle of the street. Willow Pond Road starts at Floral Lane and ends in one of the cul-de-sacs in the community and has a number of intersecting cul-de-sacs. It is also the main road within… read more about Wake up!

What's the point?

How come every time I leave my neatly bagged and stacked pile of lawn clippings and 3 feet or shorter sticks on the curb, I return home to a mess left by the sanitation crew? What's the point of leaving it on the curb if I wind up having to throw half of it in the garbage can anyway! read more about What's the point?

Where is the money going?

The latest revelations about the toll road contract for I-77 should have every taxpayer alarmed at the terms for repaying the loans to rebuild the interstate between Charlotte and Mooresville. While the governor campaigns for his next job, the NCDOT is moving in an ugly direction. If only 25… read more about Where is the money going?

Another roundabout...

To further challenge one's driving skills, now the Town of Cornelius is planning to add a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 21 and Catawba Avenue. That alone is enough to peeve the average person, but add to that the fact that very few drivers use their turn signals when intending to exit… read more about Another roundabout...

Leashless and clueless

I was walking my dog on a leash in Davidson. As I walked past a construction site near town, a construction worker had left his front window completely down. As we got close, not one, but two large dogs jumped out of the truck and attacked my dog. He ran over and asked, “Did they jump out of the… read more about Leashless and clueless

Cover them, please

Why so much road litter in Huntersville? Here's the answer: I had the misfortune of following a garbage truck down McCoy Road for about a mile. During that time, 11 pieces of garbage flew out of the top and all over the road, including one can that bounced and hit my car! And this no doubt happens… read more about Cover them, please

Needs class

I must comment on a video aired on a local channel showing a teacher assaulting a 10-year-old student. That is bad enough but the teacher was dressed like a gangster with half his rear-end hanging out of his pants. I have to believe that our children are better served in a wholesome, nurturing,… read more about Needs class

I-77 toll lanes to continue even though most of the public thinks the deal stinks. I-485 extra lane to remained closed to anyone for 5 years. Anyone notice the two very tall commercial city street lights on Liverpool Parkway that fell over for no reason during the big 12 hour, 1/2" snow event last week? Hope the installers were not the same ones involved in the sailing masts on the diverging diamond. read more about Let's hope...
