Charlotte Symphony takes on Disney in next performance

The Charlotte Symphony will kick off its 2012 season with “Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies,” that will feature songs from some of the classic Disney films.

The Jan. 7 show is held at 2:30 and 8 p.m. at the Belk Theatre and features music from scores of “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” and others.

Accompanying the symphony will be singers Candice Nicole, Stephanie Burkett Gerson, Andrew Johnson and Aaron Phillips to bring the voice of the characters from the films to the stage.
